The engraving \u201cPATENT Pelikan\u201d on the cap refers to a model with a patented piston mechanism. The nib bears the engraving \u201cPelikan 14 Karat K\u201d and confirms an original 14K gold nib with a ball tip or corresponding serial marking.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"945\">The 100N model was introduced around 1937 as an advancement of the Pelikan 100 and is characterized by an extended barrel as well as an improved piston mechanism with a Pluten seal.
