The historic Pelikan 100N fountain pen was made from black celluloid and adorned with gold-plated decorative elements. The engraving “PATENT Pelikan” on the cap refers to a model with a patented piston mechanism. The nib bears the engraving “Pelikan 14 Karat K” and confirms an original 14K gold nib with a ball tip or corresponding serial marking.
The 100N model was introduced around 1937 as an advancement of the Pelikan 100 and is characterized by an extended barrel as well as an improved piston mechanism with a Pluten seal. Typical for this series are the complete disassemblability of the components and the engravings that indicate the patented technology.
The length of the closed fountain pen is approximately 11 cm, and the weight is around 14 g. An original packaging is not preserved.
The condition is good: slight age-related signs of use are visible, the engravings are fully legible, and no cracks or breaks are apparent.
The Pelikan 100N model is considered a pre-war rarity and has high museum-worthy collector value.
