The vessel is made of cobalt blue glazed stoneware and features a pewter lid. The surface displays hand-painted decoration, giving the piece an individual character. On the base, there is a partially visible mark, whose shape and position suggest production in the Reinhold Merkelbach workshop. The central motif is a heraldic lion, framed by floral relief decorations.
